FrancisFest is the culmination of a three-season exploration of the complete songs of Francis Poulenc (1899-1963) and his world. The festival celebrates Poulenc’s remarkable legacy of beauty, humor, spirituality, and grace, delving into the vigorous collaborations he enjoyed with the many artists that flocked to Paris in the early 20th century. Poulenc’s music expresses the vitality of an age in which artists from all genres and countries inspired each other, energized by ideals of art and beauty so strong they flourished through two devastating world wars.
