Florestan Recital Project offers artistic residencies to strengthen song collaborations among students in performance and repertoire study. These activities are designed for college/university music departments as an exciting supplement to school curricula.
Florestan artists will work with students in a broad range of song repertoire to maximize their understanding of collaborations, text, and performance approaches. Sessions can be individual or group, public or private. Depending on the residency length, Florestan artists will assist in the students’ preparation of a special song recital as the culminating event (see “sample schedule” below).
Florestan artists work in all song repertoire, ranging from lieder and mélodies to new American works. If requested, special programs are possible based on schedule and availability. Concerts given in the 2011-2012 season may feature a 2010 commission by Libby Larsen, The Strange Case of Dr. H. H. Holmes.
