Scott Nicholas, pianist

Pianist, Scott Nicholas has collaborated in recitals in Europe, Central America and Bermuda, and has performed throughout the United States. Locally, Mr. Nicholas has appeared all over the New England region in solo and chamber performances. He has been heard on Boston, has performed with the Borromeo String Quartet, the New England Chamber Orchestra and the US Air Force Wind Ensemble. He has been the rehearsal and performance pianist for the Minnesota Opera, Boston Lyric/Suffolk University Contemporary Opera Theater, performance pianist for the locally produced Brown Bag Opera Company, pianist for the Leontyne Vocal Arts Competition and musical director for the New England Conservatory Opera Workshop. Scott Nicholas received his B.A. in music education from the College of New Jersey, a M.M. in accompanying/coaching from the New England Conservatory and did post graduate work at the New England Conservatory and the University of Minnesota. Mr. Nicholas is on the faculty of Emerson College, Suffolk University and the Franklin School for the Performing Arts, where he teaches piano and coaches singers, and has been on staff of both the Boston and New England conservatories.
